From 1898, with the new low-voltage magneto ignition: Phoenix car from Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft.

Precision ignition: The low-voltage magneto ignition in the engine of the 35 hp Mercedes (produced from 1901 to 1903).

A flash of inspiration: Daimler Phoenix engine with low-voltage magneto ignition.

From 1898 on without hot tube ignition: The Daimler Phoenix cars (1899 to 1902, pictured here is a 6 hp model with vis-à-vis body) were converted from Daimler’s hot tube to the Bosch magneto ignition system.

The first Mercedes: The engine of this 35 hp Daimler Mercedes of 1901 was equipped as standard with efficient low-voltage magneto ignition.
